06 May Placing scenes

6th May…we’ve all been waiting for some lovely sunny weather and today it arrived in Weardale. So it was a wonderful day to be working on placing scenes for our outdoor promenade performance.

After a morning working on aspects of the court versus to forest the group moved across to the venue where our spectacular will take place. Walking round the site, which was new territory to some, we discussed the various scenes and how each would fit in the spaces. Eventually we came to the conclusion that Court and Forest needed to be distinct areas… I think we have almost found the right places, both for audience and actors.

Also managed to speak to our illustrator today and discussed ideas for our publicity. Meanwhile the costume department were hard at work taking measurements!

We ended the day by looking at a couple of the scenes in situ against the background of bank holiday revelries going on in the village!!
