11 May Mentor session

Had next mentor session today, at Contact Theatre, with fellow directors. Started with trying to understand the “process”. All looked slightly baffled. We were given a task to complete by 3pm – a performance of a sonnet. This caused quite a lot of discussion including a crisis moment when we started to rebel – anarchy amongst directors!! But over lunch it all came into place and from then on creative and artistic juices flowed. Overall performance worked well…even had technical support from Contact staff!

Evaluation at the end of the day – we worked out what had happened and saw our “process”. A good day where I saw different working methods and in some ways how not to work! When is it time to pull back?
