10 Jun Fights and triangles
Started today in the glorious sunshine practising spacing using tennis balls, catching, throwing whilst moving around the space. Then added a new dimension of one person in the triangle being preferred as a receiver…interesting element to the game. Moved back inside for some work following the hand then the script; pacing changed and some difficult moves occurred.
The focus for today was to develop the triangular relationships between firstly Orlando, Rosalind and Celia then how this changed when Oliver arrives on the scene, triangle between Rosalind, Celia and Oliver. This was a follow on from the ball game, leaving a person out whilst favouring another. Some great dynamics and sense of embarrassment as the gooseberry!
Worked in more depth with the relationship between Celia and Oliver whilst the rest of the group rehearsed different sections of the play. Finally finished a hard day’s work with starting to work on ideas for the “wrestling” scene.
What I am enjoying most about this project is the enthusiasm of the group and the way they are all interacting with each other. We have many laughs and yet achieve so much in the time.
