RSC Open Stages

Since 2014, Drama in the Dale has been working with the Royal Shakespeare Company as part of the Open Stages programme. The aim of the project is to embrace and celebrate amateur theatre, re-forgoing its bond with the world of professional theatre.

We have taken part in workshops alongside some of the other 100 community theatre groups from across the UK. These workshops, led by professionals from the RSC, have been coordinated by our partner, Contact Theatre in Manchester. The RSC Open Stages project focuses on life long learning, with each amateur company receiving training, director mentoring and support via the RSC and partner theatres. We are delighted to have continued the mentor relationship with Tom Hogan.
