ABOUT

Drama in the Dale is a Community Interest Company (CIC) centred around Weardale. We are a fun, thriving, family friendly creative community group.

We seek to engage people of all ages who, live, work or spend their leisure time in and around Weardale. Performances provide lively, poignant and comical entertainment for audiences, whilst tapping into the talents of our 100+ members and volunteers, on stage and off stage.

‘A reputation for creating high quality performances in unusual locations…’

We have built a reputation for creating high quality performances in unusual locations, working in partnership with the local community, professional artists and culture organisations. Drama in the Dale’s work is centred on sense of place, inspired by local history and heritage.

Drama in the Dale arose because of a highly successful community play, The Bonny Moorhen, staged in a barn on the banks of the River Wear in Stanhope, and then established it’s self as an independent community organisation in September 2012.
